Founded by entrepreneur Bevan Slattery, SUBCO has assembled an experienced team of submarine cable experts with deep experience in all aspects of submarine cable infrastructure.
A serial entrepreneur, Bevan Slattery has been successfully building IT and telecommunications businesses in Australia for nearly 20 years. He has since expanded his innovations to Singapore and Hong Kong, followed by the USA and Europe.
In 2015, Bevan successfully led two of his private investments to ASX‐listed status. Superloop Limited (ASX:SLC) was listed in June 2015, after an IPO that raised $17.5 million for approximately 19.4% of the company. Megaport Limited (ASX:MP1) was listed in December, raising $25 million for approximately 28.5% of the company.
Chief Operations Officer
Lee is responsible for overseeing the design, construction, implementation and operation of SUBCO’s telecommunications infrastructure.
Prior to joining SUBCO, Lee was employed as the Chief Network Architect for SubPartners, within this role he functioned as the INDIGO West and Central Procurement Group Chairman and managed the technical aspects of the INDIGO cable system delivery from project conception to completion of ship loading.
Before SubPartners, Lee was the manager for TPG Telecom’s Network engineering division where he was responsible for managing the Transmission, Voice and Data engineering teams. Lee was also part of the project team that delivered the PPC-1 cable system connecting Sydney to Guam in 2009.
Lee previously worked with Level 3 Communications. He joined them in 1999 and from the start of their European organisation led the Operations Engineering team predominantly responsible for the technical aspects & quality control of their European high speed optical transport backbone and TransAtlantic Ultra Long-haul submarine transmission systems.
With over 20 years global telecoms industry experience, most of which have been in operations and engineering leadership positions Lee’s career history demonstrates extensive telecommunications network system engineering and operations experience.
Chief Commercial Director
Carlos is responsible for Commercial decisions and management. He has worked with major tier 1 carriers in the United States, Europe and throughout Asia, and was most recently director of international planning at Telstra. He joined Subpartners in 2012 as Commercial Director, going on to become General Manager in 2014.
Carlos’ experience includes the delivery of significant submarine infrastructure projects including the Telstra Endeavour Project, where he drove the project from business case development to commercial and operational execution.
Additionally, during his tenure at Telstra, Carlos represented Telstra’s investment interests in the Asia America’s Gateway Consortium Cable as both the Chairman of the Management Committee and the Commercial Working Group.
Carlos has worked in telecommunications for 26 years, nine of those years in multiple operational roles at Telstra. Carlos holds a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering and an Executive MBA.
Craig has been working in telco for over 20 years and has extensive industry experience. As Sales Director, he is responsible for account management and sales of all SUBCO capacity and related services on the OAC and INDIGO cable systems.
Previously he worked for TPG/Pipe International in the role of International Wholesale Solutions Specialist where he managed all international sales for services on PPC-1, Southern Cross and SeaUS cables. Craig has also worked with KPN Telecom (International) and TeliaSonera prior to moving to Australia.
